Dear Meara, Naomi and Danielle,

I am truly amazed at the interesting things you all have accomplished and experienced in such a short time, being in Israel. As a former Haifaite, I am happy to hear that you have found a home away from home at Haifa U. It is truly a wonderful campus and surroundings to host your Hebrew Ulpan. I hope you had a chance to see the Gefen Arab-Jewish Cultural Center. The “Coexistence Art Walk” through Wadi Nisnas is awesome each year with Israeli artists contributing to lanscape art projects throughout the community.

Of course, one of my favorite spots is the B’hai Temple, which looks spectacular at night from the German Colony pubs and restaurants when it is lit up.

I look forward to hearing more about your adventures and welcome you to “sell” Haifa as a center of academic excellence to your friends colleagues.

Hi Meara! I finally got around to writing some responses on the blog!

The picture is just too sweet – three Gratz students together at the Kotel! We will HAVE to put this one in Ma Hadash!

It sounds like your Kotel experience was deeply moving. That moment will stay with you the rest of your life.

Hey – the dollar I gave you worked! You got to Israel safe and sound!

Hey Danielle! I finally got around to writing back to everyone. Naomi also wrote about the intensity of the Ulpan. Learning grammar will help your Hebrew knowledge on every level.

Wow, each of us has their own bathroom! That is much better than in most American dorms.

Doing homework on the beach – sounds great!

Hope the rest of your trip is just as fabulous.
